Dorothy (Holland) Munday was a mother of three, living in Oshawa, Ontario during the early part of the 20th century. Her firstborn, Robert Munday, was my father-in-law.
She was by all accounts a fastidious homemaker, a precise person, and a loving grandmother. I inherited her teacup collection, some of her furniture, and a scribbler with 67 different muffin recipes, carefully transcribed.
I never knew her. But from what she left behind I have created an image and a character, someone I feel a kinship to, someone I think I would have loved.
